Product Manager for a Smart Grid Solutions company in Cary, North Carolina

As a Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our next-generation product roadmap, focusing on software and cloud-based advancements. Responsibilities:
- Develop strategic roadmaps for next-generation products, focusing on SaaS and cloud solutions.
- Support ongoing developments and new projects by detailing and managing product requirements.
- Engage with customers and internal teams to formulate compelling product roadmaps, value propositions, and business cases.
- Create Market Requirement Definitions (MRDs) and Product Requirement Definitions (PRDs).
- Develop product documentation, technical notes, white papers, and marketing collateral.
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, and marketing teams to support product development and respond to RFPs.
- Manage and resolve engineering, manufacturing, and customer deployment issues.
- Lead and contribute to strong company-wide product management processes.
- Conduct competitive analyses to ensure our products remain ahead of industry trends.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience as a Product Manager, preferably in the smart grid or utility industry.
- Technical expertise in software development, especially in SaaS and cloud platforms.
- Experience with streetlighting, electric meters, commercial IoT, and relevant protocols.
- Proven success in defining and launching products and developing effective product strategies.
- Strong understanding of wireless communication networks, IP protocols, and standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work onsite in Cary, NC, three days a week.
- Must be able to travel 25% of the time.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the utility market and working with global teams.
- Knowledge of AI applications within the industry.
- Familiarity with companies like A-B, Schneider, or similar in the utility and smart grid sectors.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
Type: Full-time Position
Location: Cary, NC (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 (DOE)
Work Schedule: 9am – 5pm, with occasional flexibility for global coordination.
