Filtrona Tapes, Inc. is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join our dynamic team in Richmond, VA. This role is pivotal in driving revenue growth by identifying and securing profitable new business opportunities for our tear tape and applicator products. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background, experience in sales within relevant industries, and a proven track record of building and managing a robust sales pipeline. Approximately 30% of your time will be spent working in customer service, managing and nurturing existing customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Identify and secure new business opportunities to drive revenue growth for tear tape and applicator products.
- Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong professional relationships within target markets.
- Customer Service: Spend 30% of your time managing and nurturing existing customer relationships to ensure ongoing satisfaction and growth.
- Product Expertise: Apply knowledge of tape applications to enhance customer solutions in designated markets.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Build and manage a dynamic sales pipeline through cold calling, social media, and networking.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with management, customer service, and other departments to deliver comprehensive tape solutions.
- Project Leadership: Lead key projects and product developments that enhance the sales pipeline and profitability.
- Forecasting: Provide accurate sales and customer forecasts to support Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP).
- New Market Identification: Identify and pursue new markets, materials, and processes that will benefit customers and drive growth.
- Regulatory Awareness: Stay informed about regulatory changes and translate them into business opportunities.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to company policies and our compliance program.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a technical commercial role within the tape products, packaging, or food/beverage industry.
- Integrity: Strong adherence to ethical standards and personal integrity.
- Team Player: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-based selling environment.
- Project Management: Effective project management skills with a focus on driving profitable new business.
- Willingness to Travel: Able to commit to extensive travel (50%) across the US and Canada.
