As a Lead Data Modeler, you will be working closely with Data Stewards, API and Microservice Architects, Business Users and Stakeholders, Product and Dev teams, as well as Enterprise Architects to help capture and create the business requirements in logical Data Models.
The Lead Data Modeler is responsible for developing advanced data models associated with the Data Architecture Practice and will have a large involvement with the Data Architecture for future state initiatives. The primary job function entails gathering and assessing business and technical requirements to create/update Data Models, with API connectivity for their upcoming Digital Transformation.
Delivery items include using ERWIN Data Modeler to create and maintain entity relationship diagrams, Data Mesh, Data Fabric, API Development and Specs, and providing supporting documentation as needed. This individual will also need to be familiar with, and have experience using, the Data Vault 2.0 methodology for building out Data Models. Additional job functions include identifying solution design options, advanced data profiling and subject matter expertise.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of proven experience in Data Modeling
- 8+ years of experience with Data Architectures or within Architect Titles
- Experience building Data Models using Data Vault 2.0
- Highly skilled in ERWIN or LucidCharts, including but not limited to: Diagraming, Complete Compare, Reverse Engineering, Forward Engineering
- Demonstrated ability to recognize, elicit and/or decompose complex business requirements
- Demonstrated ability to perceive patterns and relationships in data
- Demonstrated ability to design models which integrate data from disparate sources
- Demonstrated ability to design data models for complex and ragged hierarchies
- Demonstrated ability to design data models for complicated historical perspectives
- Understanding of data warehousing and decision support tools and techniques
- Strong ability to multi-task with several concurrent issues and projects
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Experience advising or mentoring staff regarding data administration, data modeling, and data mapping
- Experience creating data models for Teradata, SQL Server and Oracle databases
