Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new tools, tooling, gauging, and other tooling aids to support production operations.
Create designs and drawings using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. -
Analize tooling performance and adjust designs accordingly to improve performance.
–Design tooling for CNC machining, turning, and additive manufacturing methods.
– Review technical manufacturing specifications to determine tooling requirements
. Design for ergonomics when appropriate -
Collaborate with team members to develop design solutions for production support.
–Evaluate tooling/gauge/aid performance to determine for-use worthiness.
Investigates and troubleshoots process issues. - Provides technical support to operations. Consult with outside engineering entities when required to resolve issues.
– Coordinates multiple design projects.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal and external vendors during tooling fabrication.
- Analyze process data in support of continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications:
-A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of tooling design experience –
5 years of experience using 3D modeling CAD software –
Siemens NX preferred. Experience working with CAD assemblies. –
Good understanding of Engineering Drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing –
Strong analytical skills using appropriate logic and reasoning for design solutions. –
Experience conducting design reviews. –
Strong communication and teamwork skills. - Attention to detail. - Strong creativity and innovation skills. –
Proficiency with Microsoft O365 suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Aerospace Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) experience - 10 years of 3D modeling experience - Siemens NX CAD software experienc
