Role Summary:
Align with Project Managers to support projects within the IT space. Liaise between stakeholders and developers to elicit and document requirements. Waterfall and Agile hybrid environment. BA’s generally start with a BRD and break into workable epics, features and stories in JIRA for development and delivery. Business Analyst should be able to write BRDs, FRDs, use cases, user stories, workflow diagrams, process mapping, data mapping and visualizations.
Should have technical acumen and understanding of the software development lifecycle and systems architecture, so they can add value to technical conversations, identify and mitigate risks, be proactive in planning and looping the correct individuals/teams to support initiatives. Ex. if we need to build this feature, we will need to integrate with these systems, build APIs or web services, ensure proper data mapping in the database, connectivity to systems, UI components, etc. Understanding of application layers and how systems communicate at a high level to spearhead the effort and engage the right teams and technical resources.
Day to Day:
- Supporting 3-5 projects simultaneously
- Collaborate with BA assigned to project
- Communication with stakeholders
- Attend project status meetings
- Attend PM team meetings / training and side projects (developing SOPs for the team)
Required Experience:
- Senior IT/Technical Project Manager with 10-15+ years of experience
- Technical acumen, understanding of systems architecture and experience working with technical teams
- Experience working in hybrid environments, Agile and Scrum
- Ability to work with difficult stake holders and own their projects
Preferred Experience:
- Banking/FS experience
- JIRA/Confluence
