Chief Medical Officer, UCHealth Medical Group
The role of Chief Medical Officer (CMO), UCHealth Medical Group is responsible for leading and overseeing clinical objectives of the UCHealth Medical Group. The Chief Medical Officer will work in collaboration with hospital Chief Medical Officers, Chief Quality Officers, and other system leadership to meet organizational goals. The position reports to the Chief Medical Officer for the organization with a dotted line reporting relationship to the President and CEO of the UCHealth Medical Group.
This is a unique opportunity to lead in a large employed medical group that is part of an integrated health system with a large geographic footprint across the front range of Colorado.

Direct Reports: Senior Medical Directors, Director Advanced Practice Providers
Responsibilities
- Works with senior executive leadership to develop a strategic agenda and appropriate performance metrics for clinical performance that align with and support organizational strategic goals and objectives.
- Oversees the development and improvement of standard performance measures, evidence-based practice, and clinical protocols.
- Contributes to the development of educational tools and resources to support physician and advanced practice provider leadership development.
- Cultivates strong relationships with healthcare providers, including physicians, hospitals, and partners. Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to promote effective communication, resolve issues, and foster a culture of collaboration and mutual respect.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance with healthcare laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and recommends cost effective and efficient solutions.
- Collaborates regularly with the UCHealth Medical Group physician advisory board.

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
Education/Certification- Minimum Required Education: Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy from an accredited medical school.
- Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Medical Doctor or Physician.
- Minimum Experience: 5 years' experience in senior-level medical staff leadership.
- Master's degree in health administration, business administration or related field would enhance candidacy.
- Demonstrated competence in and a passion for improving clinical performance.
Abilities, Skills and Traits- Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of building relationships across disciplines.
- Ability to think strategically and holistically about the organization's clinical objectives, challenges and opportunities, and to align them with the organization's vision, mission and goals.
- Develop and communicate a clear and compelling vision and strategy, and to translate it into actionable plans and initiatives at the practice level.
- Lead and manage a team of professionals and experts, and to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment. The CMO should be able to delegate, empower, coach and mentor their team members, and to provide them with feedback and recognition.
- Influence and collaborate with other leaders and managers across the organization, and to build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders.
- Have a clear systematic and structured approach to identifying and solving problems and issues, and to finding and implementing solutions that are effective and efficient.
- Understand the dynamics and implications of change, and a readiness and competence to manage and facilitate change.
- Ability to assess need and feasibility of change, plan and execute change initiatives that are aligned with the organization's quality vision and strategy
- Ability to lead cohesively with a strong executive leadership team in all aspects of medical group practice.
- Exhibit strong decision making skills and appropriate sense of urgency for projects.
- Bring the voice and perspective of over 1600 physicians and Advanced Practice Providers to the table in clinical, operational, and financial decisions.
- Work collaboratively with the Medical Group President & Chief Executive Officer, Associate Chief Nursing Officer, and Chief Operating Officer to emphasize quality, safety, and clinical excellence in everything that we do.
