Calculated Hire is seeking a Special Projects Manager to perform professional duties involved in oversight, managing, and facilitating the development, design and implementation of special projects. Special projects generally include a variety of organizational initiatives, working collaboratively team members and community organizations, and helping to desired service outcomes.
Typical Duties
- Performs highly responsible administrative work, conducting or providing project oversight for a variety of organizational initiatives to assist in carrying out objectives.
- Convenes agency team members to assist in the planning, design and implementation of key organizational initiatives while exercising considerable initiative, independent judgment, and discretion especially where clearly defined guidelines are needed.
- Communicate overall goals and requirements and as appropriate, project goals, status, and progress throughout the Program to identified key customers and agency team.
- Coordinates participation of work groups, individuals, and stakeholders.
- Develop Special Project Management Plans and Implementation Plans as necessary based on specific project needs and designs.
- Provide operational assessments using external consultants and consulting service contracts where needed.
- Work in conjunction with internal departments in implementing and monitoring budgets for all assigned special projects.
- Develops mechanisms to track the implementation of each special project and distributes appropriate project management reports outlining the implementation, status updates and resulting outcomes.
- Manages the timely completion, implementation and testing phase of special projects through both direct involvement as well as working through teams and departments to ensure quality outcomes.
- Ensure project data goals are established, measured and refined.
Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and demonstrated experience and success related to organizational management, grants management, policy development and creation, staff development, and or organizational change.

- Good knowledge of the specific disciplines necessary to accomplish the stated goals of the special project.
- Working knowledge of the policies, procedures and practices of the groups or organizations from whom cooperative agreements might be required.
- Ability to prepare and present written and oral reports.
- Ability to relate to a wide range of client populations and target their needs to the project goals.
- Ability to train others, maintain effective working relationships with various groups and agencies and exercise good judgement.
