CornerStone Technology Talent Services (TTS) is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to join our client's team for a long-term contract position in Fort Worth, TX. This role is pivotal in supporting the primary software development lead in the successful execution of complex, multi-faceted software development projects. The ideal candidate will excel in managing timelines, coordinating teams, and communicating project status to leadership while effectively identifying and mitigating risks.
As a Senior Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing project coordination, maintaining project plans, and ensuring clear communication across all project participants. Your ability to manage multiple tasks, identify potential issues, and collaborate with various internal and external teams will be key to the successful delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate project management activities and information flow.
- Define project boundaries and establish timeframes for development, testing, and delivery.
- Liaise with external teams to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
- Oversee schedule management to ensure project milestones are met.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and opportunities, and resolve issues as they arise.
- Act as the primary point of contact for project status and updates.
- Collaborate with internal development teams to eliminate blockers and ensure smooth project execution.
- Create, maintain, and communicate comprehensive project documentation, including plans and reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of proven experience as a Technical Project Manager, IT Project Manager or similar roles, specifically in software development projects.
- Proficiency in methodologies like Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or Waterfall.
- Understanding of software development processes, coding, architecture, and testing.
- Familiarity with tools like Git, Jenkins, Jira, or other CI/CD and issue-tracking tools.
- Experience in developing contingency plans and handling unexpected challenges.
- Ability to translate complex technical details into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project and other project management tools.
- Positive attitude and ability to navigate complex project challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the railway or transportation industry.
