Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer:
- Understanding of Quality Management System Standards: AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 9000
- AS9102 First Article Inspection using DISCUS/Net Inspect.
- Investigating Root Causes and Implementing Corrective Actions: Employing methods such as Apollo Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Five Whys, Ishikawa (Fishbone) Diagram, and various Problem-Solving Methodologies/Techniques like 8D and DMAIC.
- Utilizing Six Sigma, Lean principles, and tools like Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Conduct audits to assess compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
- Reading and Interpreting engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Electronic/Electrical Test Techniques: Applying methods and procedures for testing electronic and electrical components and systems.
- Inspection Methods and Acceptance Criteria for Electronics/Electrical: Understanding and applying criteria for inspecting electronic and electrical components and systems.
Requirements of the Quality Engineer:
- Experience with Aerospace & Defense products and processes.
- A bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering
- ASQ certification (CQE, CQA, CQM), or a relevant experience in aerospace products and processes in a roll for Supplier Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering.
- Certification in IPC-A-610/J-STD-001 is desired.
