Responsibilities:
- Translate customer & system needs into strategic & architectural roadmap of ASICs
- Author ASIC Requirements, scope out and formalize pathway for ASIC execution.
- Finalize and oversee the chip design methodology with external ASIC design teams.
- Guide architectural & functional specifications of ASICs.
- Adjudicate verification plans and maintain end to end traceability.
- Drive performance-power-area tradeoffs, pinouts, packaging and post-silicon test and validation. • Oversee simulation/verification results and design reviews
- Sign-off tape-out checklist; Own the on-time and first-pass successful execution of ASICs.
- Communicate with IP / Process / Tool Vendors to leverage best in class available technologies
- Works closely with system, HW, FW and SW teams in integrating the ASICs and extracting the maximum performance across platforms.
Qualifications:
- MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 10+ years of experience in CMOS high precision Analog, Digital and Power mixed signal SoC ASIC development.
- Experience in assessing BCD process/foundry, estimating area, costs and power consumption
- Expertise in authoring design specifications and judging and tracking execution timelines.
- Knowledge of development methodologies, design flows including EDA integration, foundry PDK and technology limitations.
- Strong grasp of design tape-out checks/process to foundries and solid understanding of supply chain for ASIC backend development.
