Senior Estimator - Wet Utilities
Job Summary: The Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for wet utility projects, including water and sewer for commercial and residential construction projects. This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. The Senior Estimator works closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project bids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for wet utility projects, including water and sewer for commercial and residential projects.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information.
- Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
- Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and align with company standards.
- Participate in bid reviews and presentations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating within the civil construction and wet utilities industry.
- Proven experience with water and sewer projects.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project plans.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
