Title: Scrum Master (Banking Sector)
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Description: We are seeking a Scrum Master with robust experience in the banking sector to facilitate and drive our agile development processes. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader, communicator, and problem-solver who can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo, and retrospective meetings.
- Support the Product Owner in managing the backlog and guiding the team while facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope.
- Eliminate impediments and foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement.
- Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress to all affected teams and management.
- Ensure the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.
- Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
- Support and educate the Product Owner, especially concerning grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
- Coordinate with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to enhance the effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organization.
- Work with stakeholders to identify project risks and issues, and assist in the development of mitigation and action plans.
Qualifications:
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar agile project management certification (PMI-ACP, SAFe).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master in a banking or financial services environment.
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of Scrum and Kanban principles, values, and practices.
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
- Ability to understand technical issues at a high level.
- A thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from concept to deployment.
- Experience with Agile performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
- Experience with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent.
