Airswift has been tasked by one of our Engineering clients to seek a Petroleum Engineer to join them on an initial 4-month assignment in Houston, TX, possible to extend.
Responsibilities
- Deliver day-to-day field management activities including well and system monitoring, surveillance, and regulatory testing using real time data and digital tools. Daily Monitoring (Riser and well FF, DP, Temp, sand, annulus pressure, produced water, FIV, all limits, etc.) all within set limits, perform surveillance, and daily allocation as Operations PE.
- Support Operations of wells on and offshore within well operating guidelines.
- Use system modelling and optimization to identify and progress short- and medium-term production enhancement opportunities. Contribute to well and reservoir reviews. Use, update, and validate PetEx (Prosper, etc) models to optimize system production and be accountable for daily allocation. Execute, validate and interpret surveillance data, share with subsurface team to inform the Surveillance and Depletion plans.
- Understand daily well performance. Issue short-term production forecasts and document production shortfalls in production management system. Utilize Root Cause Failure Analysis techniques to embed learnings within the team.
- Coordinate well intervention activities from candidate identification, progression, planning, to execution, and post-job evaluation.
- Identify and rigorously manage well risks. Understand and document the associated surveillance, barriers, and mitigation measures.
- Provide clear communication and operational instructions to the offshore team for site execution.
- Integrate with the Projects, Wells, and Subsurface teams for field development.
- Operations Technical Assurance (Full Field)
- Issue regular well operating guidelines and support daily production optimization in line with short term reservoir management.
- Assess well and reservoir performance deviation, production improvement options (rig or non-rig) and additional surveillance needs.
- Support Activity planning and validate reservoir and well losses to identify options for eliminating future losses and reducing downtime/production losses.
- New Well Startup / Subsea Intervention technical support and coaching to build competencies.
- Operational PE technical coaching to build competencies within team.

- Great communication and integration skills. Ability to communicate complex subsurface topics to stakeholders across multiple functions.
- Aware of process safety and committed to operating discipline
- Excellent prioritization skills.
- Proficient in nodal analysis and system management and optimization.
- Experience with deepwater offshore operations would be desired.
- Experience with planning and executing complex well interventions.
- Understanding of flow assurance risks (hydrates, scale, asphaltenes) and management strategies
- Familiarity with Pressure Transient Analysis
- Ability to learn and use fast on new software and applications.
