JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of the company's data centers. Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of the data center facilities, including all hardware, software, and networking components.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of data centers, ensuring uptime and reliability.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and security.
- Lead and manage a team of data center technicians and engineers.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
- Conduct performance reviews and manage team performance metrics.
- Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of data center hardware, including servers, storage, and networking equipment.
- Ensure proper physical security and environmental controls within the data centers.
- Oversee the management of data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools.
- Monitor and forecast data center capacity requirements.
- Plan and execute upgrades and expansions to meet business needs.
- Manage vendor relationships and procure necessary equipment and services.
- Develop and manage the data center operations budget.
- Monitor and control operational expenses to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for data center operations.
- Perform other job related functions as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree
FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center operations or a related field.
- Previous management experience preferred.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:
- Experience with cloud computing and hybrid data center environments.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies and software-defined data centers.
- Strong technical knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and power/cooling systems.
- Knowledge of data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for data center operations and security.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
- Master's degree preferred.
- Certifications such as Certified Data Center Management Professional (CDCMP), Certified Data Center Technician Professional (CDCTP), or similar
