We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Network Engineer to join our Information Technology team in Independence, OH. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in designing, testing, implementing, and optimizing both new and existing voice and data networking solutions. This individual will ensure reliable network operations across multiple data centers, plants, production facilities, and offices.
As a hands-on professional, you will be involved in network architecture, design, engineering, and administration of all network, telecommunications, and security-related hardware and software. The successful candidate will be instrumental in meeting uptime and reliability service level agreements across the organization's enterprise network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
-Design, implement, and maintain the network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, routers, wireless access points/controllers/bridges, and monitoring applications across the enterprise.
-Support Palo Alto firewalls (60 firewalls)
-Refresh of Palo Alto panorama environment
-Integrate network systems with PLCs, HMIs, I/O devices, controllers, and SCADA.
-Oversee the performance and availability of the network infrastructure to ensure optimal operation.
-Establish and enforce security standards, procedures, and compliance for network infrastructure.
-Proactively monitor and resolve network performance issues to maintain maximum uptime and reliability.
-Conduct network analysis and recommend upgrades to support continuous improvement and capacity planning.
-Manage the asset lifecycle by procuring, deploying, maintaining, and retiring hardware devices, software, and peripherals.
-Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot existing VOIP networks and devices.
-Manage video conferencing solutions, ensuring they are configured, maintained, and trouble-free.
-Resolve technical issues promptly, document actions taken, and ensure customer satisfaction.
-Serve as an escalation point for after-hours network-related incidents.
-Develop and maintain disaster recovery procedures, including creating detailed documentation such as topology diagrams, device configurations, and checklists.
-Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and products using available documentation and online resources.
Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is strongly preferred.
-Candidates with 5+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
-A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in network engineering.
-Expertise in supporting LAN, WAN, wireless, and voice networks.
-Expertise with Palo Alto (will be refreshing panorama environment and bringing in newer version of Palo Alto Prisma)
-In-depth knowledge of VLANs, STP, trunking, tagging, QoS, static/dynamic routing, and high availability configurations within virtualized networking environments.
-Experience with “Next Generation Firewalls” and IPS policies.
-Proficiency in administering on-premise and/or cloud-based (Azure) VoIP solutions.
-Experience in virtualized environments, particularly with VMware, is strongly preferred.
-Knowledge of cybersecurity control frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, CIS).
Plus:
-Familiarity with SD-WAN, iWAN, or DMVPN solutions is strongly desired
-Experience with Aruba Silverpeak is a plus
-Technical vendor certifications and network certifications are preferred
