POSITION OVERVIEW
The Construction Quality Control Manager (QCM) will use their technical knowledge and skills to effectively develop, train, supervise, communicate, execute and manage the company’s Quality Control and Quality Assurance program for all Construction Projects. This is a leadership role responsible for working with the On-Site Self Perform Construction Team to ensure all quality standards are met on their projects. This position involves creating, reviewing, and updating Project Quality Plans to ensure compliance with contracts, standards, methods, and specifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Train and mentor Team on all aspects of the QA/QC Program.
• Develop and manage the Quality Control Plan for all construction projects.
• Read and interpret complex contract specifications, documents, and architectural/engineering/mechanical/electrical drawings.
• Analyze and solve problems by interpreting technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
• Lead internal and external teams with regards to surveying, inspecting, aligning, and documentation required to meet QA/QC program.
• Review and approve submittals, process RFIs, and create detailed Daily Activity Reports.
• Collaborate with team members, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers and manufacturers to meet contract requirements, project goals, and objectives.
• Communicate effectively with client quality assurance personnel, technical experts, and construction supervisors. Understand and manage the requirements of the customer contracts.
• Lead meetings, present findings, and facilitate problem-solving sessions with technical experts.
• Utilize QCS/RMS software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) proficiently.
• Prepare data presentations, proposals, reports, and manuals.
• Mentor Quality Control Specialists and perform additional duties as assigned.
• Keep up with emerging trends in technology to improve delivery of the QA/QC program.
REQUIREMENTS
• HS Diploma/GED with 15 years of QCM experience in the heavy industrial industry, or a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field with 10 years of QCM experience.
• Valid OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, and LEED certifications required.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• Contractor Quality Management for Contractors Certification or the ability to obtain it.
• QCM experience on heavy industrial projects
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in QCS/RMS software and Microsoft Office Suite, and Excel.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Experience with project management software (Primavera, Microsoft Project).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Requires prolonged walking, standing, sitting, bending, squatting, stooping, climbing, regular lifting and carrying to move up to 50 lbs., talking, hearing, reaching, feeling, grasping and push/pulling.
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions/temperatures.
• Regular mental and visual attention much or all the time with manual coordination.
• General office environment conditions.
• Flexibility required to travel greater than 50% of your time.
