We are seeking an experienced professional with a background in metal machining and the automotive industry. This is a hands-on role, requiring the ability to work on the shop floor, assisting with maintenance, setup, and operator support, while driving process improvements.
What your day will look like:
- Maintain a reliable and safe CNC machining process, while optimizing production rates, efficiency, yields, costs, and changeovers.
- Contribute to the design and development of new equipment and tooling.
- Support the development of internal processes and procedures to meet APQP requirements.
- Monitor manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for problem-solving initiatives.
- Provide guidance, training, and prioritization for Process Technicians and Maintenance staff.
- Investigate and address manufacturing-related corrective and preventive actions.
- Assist in developing and maintaining automated and lean manufacturing solutions.
- Estimate machining cycle times and tooling requirements for new and existing parts.
- Develop manufacturing plans, create visual work instructions, and collaborate with the design engineering team to resolve technical issues and meet quality and delivery goals.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related Engineering field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Preferred experience with lean manufacturing methodologies
- Experience with both CNC and manual milling and turning processes, with robotic handling and programming experience being a plus.
- Proficiency in cutter selection, spindle feed and speed rates, and cycle time estimation.
- Skilled in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office tools
- Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
