Job Title: Geotechnical Branch Manager

As the Geotechnical Branch Manager, you will lead a dynamic and expanding office that provides subsurface exploration, geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and special inspection services. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of public and private sector projects, including buildings, bridges, roads, retaining walls, dams, and more.
Core Responsibilities:
- Branch Operations Leadership: Manage all office operations, ensuring excellence across geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and environmental services.
- Strategic Planning & Profitability: Direct annual business planning, oversee financial performance, and develop business growth strategies.
- Team Development: Build and lead a high-performance team by promoting professional growth, coaching, and aligning staff with company objectives and values.
- Client Engagement: Lead business development efforts, foster client relationships, and ensure precise estimates and successful proposal execution.
- Cultural Leadership: Uphold company values and foster a positive, ethical work environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related discipline. An MBA is a plus.
- Experience: 8-15+ years of progressive experience in Construction Materials Special Inspection & Testing, Geotechnical Engineering, or both, with management experience.
- Licensing: P.E. license required, with state registration within three months of hire.
- Leadership Ability: Demonstrated success in leading teams, mentoring staff, and communicating effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Business Savvy: Proven track record of driving business success, achieving growth, and converting business development efforts into strong client relationships.
- Local Insight: Familiarity with the Fredericksburg area’s industry standards is preferred.
