The Product Manager will be process and results driven, value oriented with an extensive apparel/ accessories background as well as experience in brand building. Position requires time and action, calendar manipulation and process knowledge including working with technical design, WIP management, development and logistics. Must be very organized and have an analytical and strategic approach to problem solving in a fast-paced environment. Must be forward looking and focused on achieving corporate objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the processes from “Line Freeze” to “Production”. Assist early in the process with fabric development.
- Work directly with sourcing agents and factory personnel to ensure materials, pre-production samples, fits, quality control and Pre-Production and Production processes are managed properly to ensure quality, on-time product.
- Management of production timelines, reviewing reports and recommending solutions to exceptions.
- Maintain Vendor Matrix Strategy. Source new vendors and factories in concert with VP, Director and Agents.
- Participate early in development process to manage pre-allocation of styles.
- Assign approved vendors to appropriate styles by season. Dual source when appropriate.
- Develop time and action calendars for all programs managed.
- Work with Design and Tech Design team to develop samples for quarterly design presentations. Track all protos, preproduction, advertising and TOP samples.
- Review protos and costing during development trips. Negotiate costs.
- Finalize costing, manage placement of Purchase Orders, review quantities and finalize all T & A calendars.
- Manage packaging inventories by Brand. Manage the creation of new packaging as needed.
- Monitor production status of all programs by season.
- Coordinate and lead weekly production meetings with factories and agents. WIP management.
- Build strong lasting relationships with vendors & cross functional teams to help foster an environment of partnership and trust.
- Review and comment on fabric and garment testing results-work with the QA/QC Manager.
- Communicate delivery information to buyers and SSMC teams.
- On-board new vendors utilizing vendor manual and including new vendor set-ups.
- Pre-classify all garments, calculate all landed costs and create wire transfers as needed.
- Work with planning team to help forecast fabric reservation and production space.
- Work with and help to develop Assistant Product Manager.
- Reconciliation of final landed costs.
- Demonstrates high level of quality work, attendance and appearance.
- Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers and management.
- Adhere to all local, federal and state laws in addition to Company policies, procedures, and practices.
- Performs any other duties that may be assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Strong communication, customer service, time management and organizational skills.
- Candidate will have at least 5 years of experience working in a private brand environment.
- Extensive experience working with Asian, Indian, Central American and Mexican suppliers and factories specializing in manufacturing apparel.
- Must possess the ability to work independently and be an adept problem solver.
- Ability to work cohesively with teammates and partners.
- Communicate effectively on Video Conference, email, phone and in person.
- Fluency in Chinese or Mandarin a plus

PAY RANGE: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00*
*compensation varies based on geography, skills, experience, and tenure
