THE POSITION
New 42 seeks a full-time IT Systems Administrator, who will be responsible for providing support to end users by installing and assisting with the operations of their workstations (Windows and Mac), business applications and related equipment. He/she should have experience working in a cloud-oriented environment, maintaining Windows Servers, and administering various windows-based services.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary contact to support internal company, end users, and IT operations.
- Install, train, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair desktop technology hardware and software (Windows & Mac Environments).
- Supporting remote employees with remote access tools/VPN
- Provision Windows systems - install software (security, application), hardware drivers as required by end user.
- Respond to incidents within SLA or within a timely manner with an appropriate level of urgency, and follow up with customers on all issues
- Escalate incidents and questions to Director of IT, Cyber Security, and Infrastructure
- Disconnect, move, and reconnect desktop technology hardware for single us er, multi-user, and office moves
- Administer and maintain Server infrastructure components, Primary and Secondary domain controller, Pinter Server, and Security Server
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot office telephony system
- Administer Windows Active Directory and Google Apps – create/terminate users accounts
- Manage and maintain cloud-based workstation and server management platform (Microsoft Intune soon to be Microsoft Endpoint Manager).
- Maintain accurate hardware and software records for corporate assets
- Assist with the procurement of hardware and software
- Contribute to the improvement and enhancement of processes and procedures
- Actively engage and participate in ongoing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion work within the organization, including the centering of anti-oppressive practices within the Information Technology department for the advancement of New 42 as an anti-racist organization.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, engineering or a related field required. Experience can be substituted for Education.
3-5 years technical experience in small to medium environments.
Technical experience in Cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).
Ability to work within a team environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at the same time.
Customer service/help desk experience.
Ability to collaborate and work with others.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Multilingualism a plus.
Experience with Zoho products (Service Desk Plus, AD Manager Plus, and AD Self Service Plus) a plus.
Experience with Apple device management (Jamf or Kandji)
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate a plus
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) a plus
CompTIA Server+ a plus
CompTIA Security+ a plus
