Overview:
Direct client of ours is seeking a full-time Infrastructure Engineer responsible for their HCI environment.
Role is required to be onsite 5 days in their Westchester office (Ability to work remote 1 day a week)
**Overall package includes Base salary, Bonus (significant), Pension and 401k in addition to comprehensive benefit package.
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer role is a mission-critical responsibility that requires expertise in Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) environments. Software defined system combining aspects of a traditional data center; storage, compute, networking and management. This individual will maintain ownership over the organization’s virtualized data center infrastructure, tasked with all aspects of keeping it up and operating in an optimal and reliable manner.
Experience with HCI solutions; Cisco UCS, SAN/NAS Storage and Windows/Linux Server infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
The Engineer will perform hardware installation, rack and stack, configuration and troubleshoot existing hardware.
- Support operations and maintain all hardware in data centers, including all infrastructure cabling, servers, storage and troubleshooting
- This lead role will support a data center with HCI engineering responsibilities for Compute, Storage and Networking including; Cisco UCS/Blade Chassis, Cisco HyperFlex, Brocade Networking, Dell/EMC Unified Storage PowerMax
- Maintain VMWare-based infrastructure and related storage including; troubleshooting and resolution
- Provide day to day data management and operational support for distributed data systems
Qualifications:
- 10+ years’ experience and expertise in a dedicated data center engineering/management role, HCI environment a must
- Direct engineering and design expertise in creating reliable, scalable applications and systems, with fault tolerance, performance tuning, monitoring systems, metrics and disaster recovery
- Experience with network equipment installation and hardware builds installing Windows and Linux systems
- Technical expertise with; Cisco UCS, VMware, EMC/Dell Unified Storage and Powermax
- Must be able to maintain good clear inventory records, rack elevations, and power consumption
- Must be a self-starter with a high degree of personal accountability and ownership; being a problem-solver and fast-on-your-feet
