The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.
In accordance with New York law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York is $120K-$140k/year & benefits (see below).
Summary:
We are undertaking a Network Modernisation project. As a part of this ongoing project, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Load Balance Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our network load balancing infrastructure. They will design, implement, and maintain load balancing solutions to optimize application delivery, enhance failover capabilities, and ensure high availability and scalability of our network services. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of work experience in handling Performance and load.
Required skills:
- Collaborate with network architects to integrate load balancing solutions into the overall network design.
- Perform routine audits of systems and software, applying patches and upgrades as needed.
- Analyze network traffic patterns and optimize load balancing configurations for improved performance.
- Provide Level 2/3 support for network load balancing issues, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution implementation.
- Document network configurations and maintain records of changes and modifications.
- Participate in capacity planning and conduct performance tuning to handle projected traffic growth.
- Work with security teams to ensure load balancing solutions comply with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
- Proven experience in handling Load balancing technologies
- Expertise in performance tuning and managing the load.
- Good knowledge about load balancer and respective tools.
- Good handson experience in scripting languages like Shell scripting, Python, etc.
- Thorough expertise in application load handling.
- Good understanding of load balancer tools.
- Hands-on experience in problem solving.
- Proficient in Scripting and Automation tools.
- Good to handle production issues and to support respectively.

- Hardware Load Balancers: F5 BIG-IP, Citrix NetScaler, A10 Networks, etc.
- Software Load Balancers: HAProxy, NGINX, Apache HTTP Server (mod_proxy_balancer), Microsoft Network Load Balancing (NLB), etc.
- Cloud-based Load Balancers: AWS Elastic Load Balancing (ELB), Azure Load Balancer, Google Cloud Load Balancing, etc.
Monitoring and Analytics:
- Network Monitoring: SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG Network Monitor, Zabbix, etc.
- Application Performance Monitoring (APM): Dynatrace, New Relic, Datadog, etc.
- Log Analysis Tools: Splunk, Elastic Stack (ELK), Graylog, etc.
Automation and Orchestration:
- Configuration Management: Ansible, Puppet, Chef, SaltStack, etc.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, etc.
- CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, etc.
Security Tools:
- Web Application Firewalls (WAFs): Imperva, Fortinet, AWS WAF, etc.
- SSL/TLS Management: Let's Encrypt, OpenSSL, etc.
- Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS): Snort, Suricata, etc.
