The position will be responsible for managing and maintaining the physical infrastructure of Walmart's data centers, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety of the company's enterprise critical environment.
The Senior Data Center Facilities Engineer will work in a modern, state-of-the-art data center environment, with access to cutting-edge technologies and tools. The work schedule may include night shifts, weekends, and on-call rotations as needed.

What you'll do:
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Center Operations: Manage and maintain the day-to-day operations of a 24x7 data center, including power, cooling, and Building Management Systems (BMS) .
- Maintenance and Repair: Lead routine to complex maintenance and repairs on data center equipment and systems, including HVAC, electrical, fire, and BMS systems.
- Operations: Facilitate the coordination of major preventive maintenance and project activities by establishing and nurturing connections with essential stakeholders across multiple enterprise data centers
- Strategic Planning: Forecast and drive strategic long-range goals and projects. Partner with and advise the data center manager to achieve these goals.
- Capacity Planning: Collaborate with data center architects and engineers to plan for capacity upgrades and expansions, ensuring that the data center infrastructure can support current and future business needs.
- Energy Efficiency: Develop and implement energy efficiency initiatives to reduce data center energy consumption and carbon footprint.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with Walmart's security policies and regulatory standards, such as OSHA, NFPA, and EPA. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with data center vendors, including contract negotiation, vendor performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Budgeting: Develop and manage the data center facilities budget, including capital expenditures and operational expenses.
- Project Management: Lead data center projects, including planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Build strong collaborative partnerships with peers and drive consistency across multiple enterprise data centers, provide guidance and mentorship to the data center facilities engineer.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical/mechanical engineering, or related field and/or 8 years of experience in data center facilities engineering and operations, including 3 years in a leadership or senior role.
- In-depth knowledge of data center facilities technologies, including power, cooling, and building management systems
- Strong understanding of data center design, implementation, and operations.
- Utilization and knowledge of enterprise level applications (Maximo, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, and ServiceNow).
- Expert knowledge of the creation and execution of Method of Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and Emergency Operating Procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
