We are partnering with a leading client in the manufacturing industry to find a talented Process Engineer to join their team in Montgomery, AL. Key Responsibilities:
- Capacity Analysis & Tooling: Perform capacity analysis, suggest changeover improvements, and specify new tooling to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Lean Improvements: Identify and implement process improvements with a focus on lean manufacturing principles.
- Process Changes & Facility Projects: Lead the implementation of process changes and improvements, and support Factory Master Plans as needed.
- Day-to-Day Operations Support: Utilize engineering tools to support daily manufacturing operations, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Problem Solving & Quality Enhancement: Apply technical problem-solving techniques to evaluate and implement manufacturing improvement strategies.
- Production Bottlenecks: Investigate and resolve production bottlenecks, focusing on safety, ergonomics, quality, and cost.
- Engineering Change Orders: Analyze design, drawing, and engineering change orders, ensuring changes are practical, necessary, and cost-effective.
- Project Management: Initiate and manage projects, including cost reduction and product/plant improvements, from planning through completion.
- Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Lead plant-level cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, Materials/Purchasing, and Production.
- Space & Equipment Planning: Analyze and plan manufacturing space, equipment, tooling, personnel, and time requirements.
- Cost Reduction & Process Optimization: Continuously analyze operations to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
- Expenditure Management: Develop and submit requests for capital expenditures, expenses, and purchase requisitions.
- Communication: Present ideas and solutions effectively to department heads and plant management.
Must-Have Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in process engineering or continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in computer skills and relevant software tools.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Advanced Degree in a related field.
- Experience with Oracle ERP.
- Familiarity with the Toyota Production System.
- Experience with related industry products.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
