Job Description:
A Quality Assurance Engineer at The Lee Company is broadly responsible for activities that support the Quality Management System and related Quality Objectives. A QAE at The Lee Company utilizes their diversified skillset to support the Quality Management System while driving Continuous Improvement. The specific role will have an emphasis on Supplier Quality.
Qualifications:
- B.S./A.S. degree in Engineering or similar discipline with at least three years related experience in quality control/quality assurance/manufacturing.
- Quality systems knowledge including ISO9001/AS9100/PPAPs
- Knowledge of gage calibration, SPC, geometric tolerancing, inspection methods, MRB, corrective action resolution, first article inspection and others.
- Experience with machining and/or other manufacturing operations and inspection
Key Responsibilities:
- Primary supplier contact for quality-related concerns
- Supports Purchasing and Planning with supplier delivery concerns
- Conducts initial evaluation of new suppliers
- Conducts periodic supplier evaluations
- When necessary conducts audits/evaluations at suppliers (up to 10% to 15% travel)
- Creates, monitors and shares supplier “scorecards”
- Maintains and reports monthly, annually, quarterly supplier performance metrics
- Reviews and approves FAIR inspection results
- Maintains supplier regulatory database (Reach, RoHS, CM, etc.)
- Approves all supplier-related NCMRs
- Maintains approval status of all suppliers
- Evaluates opportunities to optimize number of suppliers
