The ideal candidate will be constantly assessing the systems in place to ensure that they are both safe and operating efficiently. This candidate will be comfortable managing a team and conducting analysis in order to highlight areas for improvement. This candidate should also be comfortable ensuring necessary utilities are working correctly and possess strong organizational skills in order to keep track of multiple projects at once.

Responsibilities
- Passionate about both team member and food safety
- Complete understanding and enforcement of safety initiatives such as OSHA, GMP, HACCP, RMP, PHA
- Proactively maintains facilities and equipment for compliance to USDA regulations
- Assures equipment reliability to maximize production line efficiency
- Maintains P&L responsibility over maintenance department cost centers
- Foster a collaborative environment between the maintenance department and other departments
- Methodically plans maintenance department activities during down days for maximum impact
- Review of production schedules to determines appropriate maintenance support
- Ability to adjust schedules with little notice
- Generates PM (preventative maintenance) documents for all equipment and enforces their use
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and a minimum of 10-years related experience in a maintenance and manufacturing environment. Preferably in a USDA plant.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, electronic, PLC equipment, boilers and facilities.
- Experience in CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems)
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience
