We are looking for a Quality Control Laboratory Chemist to join the team! This is a direct hire, entry-level position that is 100% on-site in a manufacturing facility in Shelbyville, Kentucky.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of raw materials, in-process samples, final products, and stability samples for product release.
- Utilize various analytical testing techniques, e.g., Gas Chromatography (GC), UV-Visible spectroscopy, titrations, and other relevant methods.
- Perform required performance verifications (PV's) on all applicable instruments.
- Be observant of all laboratory equipment and instrument calibration requirements, assuring instruments are properly calibrated, maintained, and operated in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all analytical testing processes and outcomes. Prepare and review data. Ensure that results are recorded and archived appropriately in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in developing and writing departmental procedures, work instructions, test methods, and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Assist in investigations and troubleshoot any analytical testing issues that may arise, collaborating with team members to identify and address potential root causes.
- Uphold a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) guidelines and regulations.
- Develop basic competency in the ERP system.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or related fields. A solid foundation in analytical chemistry is preferred.
- Previous experience working in an analytical laboratory setting, with proficiency in operating and maintaining analytical instruments such as GC and UV-Vis spectroscopy. Experience with other relevant techniques is a plus.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and regulatory guidelines is preferred, particularly in laboratory operations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring meticulous documentation and adherence to established protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and address issues promptly.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, allowing for clear and concise reporting and collaboration with team members.

- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 10:00 am – 6:30 pm with the flexibility to work hours as needed to support production schedules.
- Pay: $55K (eligible for overtime pay) with full-time benefits
