POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a full-time Staff/Project Geotechnical Engineer to join our Sacramento, CA team. At RMA, you can look forward to working on a wide variety of interesting projects both in the field and in the office.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Staff/Project Geotechnical Engineer at RMA, your will support lead geotechnical engineers to successfully complete geotechnical projects in ways that satisfy clients and minimize risks. The position, salary, and level of responsibilities assigned to the individual will be based on the experience level of the candidate.
Under the supervision of a lead geotechnical engineer, you will be expected to:
- Supervise subsurface investigations.
- Perform engineering analyses including but not limited to settlement, seepage, slope stability, lateral load resistance, deep foundation analyses, soil-structure interaction, seismic deformation, and site-specific seismic hazard analyses.
- Develop geotechnical design-level recommendations.
- Observe geotechnical construction activities.
- Write geotechnical reports, letters, and proposals.
- Represent RMA at team and client meetings.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
The following minimum requirements apply to this position.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field. Master of Science (MS) in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
- At least 3 years of relevant geotechnical experience for the project engineer position.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Hold a valid driving license with a good standing driving record.
- The employee occasionally is required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and to walk up to ½ mile daily.
