location: GLASTONBURY, Connecticut
job type: Contract - 1 year with highly likelihood of extension (long tenure role)
salary: $45 - 65 per hour
work hours: 8am to 4pm
education: Bachelors
responsibilities
- Work directly with customers, and engineering team to develop and deliver solutions that align with the end users' goals in the develpoment of 188-500 megawat units
- Develop new and modify existing PLC or HMI applications, interfaces
- Ownership in set-up and commissioning of new facilities or upgrading of existing facilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions and make recommendations that will improve the efficiency / quality of operations
- Document specifications and operating procedures
- Contribute to the team's progress by collaborating with customers, test operations, and the design team to maintain software and hardware configuration as well as facility test cadence
- Create and maintain software configuration files, test scripts, procedures LabVIEW console GUIs, and test
qualifications
- BSEE or MSEE along with 5 years' experience as a controls engineer
- Experience with power systems or controls engineering including PLC's and HMI's
- Familiarity with Woodward controls platform (the oldest designer and manufacturer of control systems and components for industrial equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Desire to grow/develop and a passion for delivery
- ATO programming in PLC's or Protective Relays
- Ability to read and interpret power system studies
- Electrical distribution design
