The Systems Sustaining Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of engineers in maintaining, contnuosly improving, and optimizing existing refrigeration systems. This role focuses on production support, custom order development (COD), continuous improvement, sales/application engineering/field quality speciaslist technical support and ensuring the reliability and performance of our systems products. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for the refrigeration systems compliance and the overall systems design engineering infrastructure (tools, PLM, etc.). The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in refrigeration systems, excellent project management skills, communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the product engineering function including COD, value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE), product prototyping and testing, and existing product life cycle support.
- Provide technical support and guidance to Sales & Marketing, Application Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, & Field Service Teams.
- Work closely with Operations Management and Sourcing Managers to achieve manufacturing productivity and sourcing cost reduction initiatives.
- Ensure seamless implementation of product transition from new product introduction (NPI) and non-traditional requests (NTR) to sustaining engineering, changes, coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor a team of sustaining engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Manage team performance, providing feedback, development opportunities, and setting clear goals. Oversee the resolution of technical challenges related to existing refrigeration systems in timely manner.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain all the quoting tools, application & installation/instructional manuals pertaining to refrigeration systems business. Drive standardization within the organization for all engineering information including 3D CAD, PLM related attributes, bill of materials structure and product specifications.
- Develops and implement engineering performance metrics, support implementation and maintenance of global design standards.
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Years of Experience w/ Degree – 10 to 15

- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements for refrigeration systems.
