LHH Recruitment Solutions is hiring a Director of Land Development for our client in Albuquerque, NM. The Director of Land Development will work closely with the Division President to develop land and deliver lots for building communities, ensuring alignment with the division’s business plan. Responsibilities:
- Lead the Land Development team, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Manage all aspects of community development, including design, planning, engineering, and construction.
- Solicit and analyze bids from contractors, negotiate contracts, and finalize agreements.
- Create and monitor budgets for infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage, water, sewer, and landscaping.
- Ensure all development activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Work with land planners, engineers, consultants, government officials, and trade partners to ensure smooth project execution.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Conduct final inspections with local authorities and secure necessary approvals and bond releases.
- Be prepared to travel overnight as required for project needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
- 7-10 years of relevant experience in land development or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, proficiency with MS Office, and the ability to understand and apply instructions.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds, with regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Understanding of civil engineering plans, grading plans, as-builts, and utility layouts.
- Experience in homebuilding and real estate transactions is preferred.
