About the Company:Andrews and Cole has partnered with a leading manufacturing company assisting them with a key hire. The Operational Excellence Manager is expected to be a hands-on leader helping coordinate consistent deployment of key Operational Improvement initiatives in the plant. This critical role will be accountable to develop the strategy plan for operational standards including Manufacturing Waste reduction, LEAN, Six Sigma, and Plant KPI’s, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Implement Six Sigma methodology, Lean Manufacturing Practices, and Kaizen Events with plant leadership to drive continuous improvement efforts in a sustainable method and structure.
- Improve operational performance by implementing quality, scrap, and MUV improvements using scalable DMAIC principles.
- Reviewing statistical data on business performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Works with managers in targeting areas for improvement and development of Operational Excellence plan and overall framework (quantified opportunities, prioritization, etc.).
- 5S Leader by implementing regular audits and follow up to ensure being sustained.
- Leads program management of major improvement initiatives.
- Provides training/coaching to plant personnel in various continuous improvement tools and initiatives.
- Leads high impact projects where coaching is not sufficient due to scope and complexity of problem.
- Leads post-implementation audits to ensure improvements are fully implemented, sustained and driving the planned benefits.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (technical field preferred)
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience
- Six Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Kaizen, Kanban, Problem Solving, 5S, Error Proofing, SMED, Team Development, Value Stream Mapping, TPM, and other tools related to continuous improvement.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Experienced in successfully implementing lean/quality improvement initiatives in an industrial manufacturing setting.
- Proven problem-solving skills.
- Strong coaching/teaching ability.
- Understand team dynamics and able to maximize the effectiveness of teams.
- Strong communication skills.
- Able to manage and coach to ensure an effective Operational Excellence process is implemented and sustained.
- Strong program/project management skills
Computer Equipment and Software Requirements:
- Computer literate in MS applications (Office, Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Minitab preferred
Licenses or Certifications:
- Lean and PE Black Belt certified desirable
