firstPRO is hiring a talented Software Developer to join our client located in Philadelphia, PA. A successful candidate will have experience with Enterprise Architecture Development, REST Microservices, complex SQL querying, OOP/OOD principles. This role is a contract to hire opportunity and has a hybrid work model which requires 1-2 days onsite.
Responsibilities
- Develop PHP web applications using frameworks like CodeIgniter, adhering to industry best practices.
- Implement fully synchronous behavior in PHP applications.
- Assist in front-end development using JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Write high-quality back-end code and create efficient PHP modules with object-oriented programming.
- Manage SQL/NoSQL databases and their query languages.
- Utilize Linux OS, virtual machines, and REST APIs.
- Produce technical and design documentation as needed.
- Address complex performance issues and architectural challenges.
- Ensure compliance with accessibility and security standards.
- Apply design principles to create scalable applications.
- Integrate various data sources and databases.
- Use version control tools like Git.
- Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle, ensuring quality code through thorough unit testing.
- Manage multiple tasks and provide support for production issue resolution.
Requirements
- Experience engaging with stakeholders at all business levels.
- Strong background in software development, especially in enterprise architecture.
- Ability to understand and translate business requirements, with a business analyst mindset.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles, Object -Oriented Design (OOD) and class design.
- Proficiency in designing and developing REST Microservice systems.
- Possess expert knowledge of SQL querying, with a strong emphasis on performing complex joins, including both inner and outer joins, to efficiently retrieve and manipulate data from multiple tables.
- Experience working with Linux-based systems.
- Familiarity with Azure services is a plus.
