Insight Global is hiring an Electrical Engineer for one of our large warehouse manufacturing clients. This role involves collaborating with all engineering disciplines, seeking their input, and striving for design consensus to meet product development goals. Early product development will focus on designing and building prototypes, proof-of-concept models, and minimum viable products as defined by Management. The Electrical Engineer will contribute to or lead the delivery of complex production-level designs for new products and support these products through production and customer adoption. Responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing custom electrical control systems, enclosures, and wiring for Warehouse Automation product lines.
- Leading the end-to-end design and development of high-speed modules, circuits, and subsystems.
- Deriving and allocating hardware requirements and generating design concepts to meet operational and functional needs.
- Designing and developing electronic and electrical circuits and subsystems optimized for performance, manufacturability, reliability, and cost, advancing designs through release and production.
- Defining and documenting custom enclosures, cabling, schematic diagrams, and models in CAD.
- Providing guidance for PCB layout and routing.
- Designing and documenting engineering solutions, including cost, fabrication, and serviceability aspects.
- Developing detailed specifications for components and machinery.
- Presenting, discussing, and reviewing engineering specifications and solutions in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
- Specifying and selecting key electro-mechanical components for proposed solutions.
- Acting as a subject matter expert supporting development for awarded programs.
- Conducting statistical analysis of test data to finalize design adjustments.
- Defining, documenting, and/or validating Bill of Materials.
- Working with suppliers to develop solutions, tooling, and processes while controlling costs.
- Supporting in-house manufacturing, production, and assembly departments from proof-of-concept phase through production stabilization.
- Committing to all safety and compliance standards, regulations, and requirements.
- Troubleshooting and resolving design challenges and operational deficiencies.
- Providing clear, concise, accurate, and timely verbal and written updates to project and department management.
- Taking ownership of tasks from start to finish.
