Roc Search is currently working with a leading State Agency that is looking for a COBOL Programmer to join their team.
As a COBOL Programmer you will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining COBOL-based applications. You will work closely with our IT and business teams to ensure that our systems run efficiently and meet organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance COBOL applications to support business operations.
- Analyze and troubleshoot and debugging existing COBOL code and systems. Ensure the quality and reliability of software.
- Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to gather and define requirements.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for system modifications and enhancements.
Desired Skills Include:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 9 years of professional experience as a Programmer with COBOL
- Experience with other programming languages and technologies, such as DB2.
- Proven experience as a COBOL Programmer or similar role including knowledge of COBOL II and COBOL/400.
- Experience with mainframe environments, such as IBM or AS/400.
- Ability to work with legacy systems and integrate them with modern technologies.
- PHP experience is a plus

Location – Austin, Texas (Hybrid)
W2 Rate – $50-$55/hr
Length – Long term Contract
