Electrical Testing Technician (Union Role)

The company is seeking an Electrical Testing Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will conduct acceptance and routine maintenance tests on various low and medium-voltage electrical equipment, including switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, and protective relays, while documenting work and producing detailed technical reports.

Focus:
- Conduct acceptance and maintenance tests on electrical equipment in accordance with NETA standards.
- Employ and manage a variety of testing instruments including meggers, digital multimeters, Hipot testers, relay testers, GFI, TTR, and both primary and secondary injection devices.
- Maintain detailed records and write technical reports summarizing field activities.
- Analyze and interpret electrical schematics and control diagrams.
- Perform detailed testing, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
- Inspect and service transformers, switchgear, relays, and other electrical systems.
- Assess the operating condition of equipment and identify potential issues.
- Prepare and present detailed technical reports to both team members and clients.
Skill Set:
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical testing procedures.
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment and the principles behind their use.
- Experience in testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning electrical systems.
- Preference for candidates with NETA Level II, III, or IV Certification.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10-25% of the time (with the majority of work being local).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Competency in computer usage for report generation and data management.
