Job Title: Data Modeler/Architect with Azure Experience

Job Summary: As a Data Modeler/Architect with Azure expertise, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data models and architectures that support the strategic initiatives of our banking sector client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, data warehousing, and Azure cloud services, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality data solutions in the banking industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data models that effectively capture, integrate, and distribute data in a hybrid (cloud and on-premises) environment.
- Work with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives.
- Ensure that the data architecture is optimized for Azure cloud services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other relevant Azure data services.
- Collaborate with data engineers and IT teams to implement data strategies and to ensure that data solutions are aligned with the enterprise architecture and governance standards.
- Provide guidance on data modeling best practices and standards, and ensure that they are consistently applied across all projects.
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of data modeling tools and technologies.
- Assist with data migration, data integration, and data transformation activities.
- Participate in the development of data governance policies and procedures, and support the implementation of data quality measures.
- Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in data architecture and Azure cloud services, and recommend improvements to the existing data environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in data modeling and architecture, specifically within the banking sector.
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing principles, data modeling techniques, and data architecture patterns.
- Hands-on experience with Azure data services and cloud-based data solutions.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to data privacy and protection in the banking industry.
- Proficient with data modeling tools such as ER/Studio, ERwin, or similar.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Relevant Azure certifications are a plus.
