Data Migration PMO
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Migration PMO for an upcoming SAP S4 HANA project implementation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in agile project management coupled with the ability to someone who can drive the team to meet deadlines and create schedules, data management principals are crucial as well as ETL architecture and principals. This role will be responsible for the follow up on the data migration activities execution, ensuring the timelines and milestones are met, and to help data migration leads identify and assess risks related to parallel rollout activities that could impact data migration.
This is a full-time role located on site in Clark, NJ. Candidate should live locally. The candidate must have a passport and be able to obtain a work visa as travel to Paris will be required (about twice a year).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the Data Migration led:
a. In the development and testing activities for the data migration process for S/4 HANA implementations
b. By leading the data team through the scope, extraction, mapping, and loading of both the master data sets & transactional data sets from multiple sources into SAP system through the project phases and go-live.
2. Understand and follow up on the data migration methodology, the current Data Migration Global playbook, overall knowledge and experience of data migration strategy and sequence as well as data migration tools (ETL).
3. Collaborate with global and local project team to ensure the alignment on data migration timelines and milestones, and the coherence of data migration with other rollout activities (Template build, applications remediation, other parallel projects)
4. Actively assist the data migration lead on the coordination, tracking and reporting of data migration and data propagation activity to stakeholders but developing and maintain a detailed work plan those feeds into the overall project plan Create and build reporting and executive summaries to update executives and corresponding teams on current state milestones and upcoming /forward looking milestones.
5. Be proactive on planning risk assessment internal and external to data migration activities and communication to global and local stakeholders.
6. Day to day tracking and reporting on data migration activity progress to data migration lead and project stakeholders, through emails with concise messaging, ability to make recommendations and work with teams to ensure there are achievable mitigation plans in place.
7. Initiate with the Business Process Owners and DTM leads to ensure the Data Migration and Propagation activities are captured and aligned with timing for proper testing. Collaborate to react to Data defects.
8. Work in tandem with the Business and Technical Cutover leads to ensure tasks are captures to ensure timely executive for go-live.
9. Develop external distinction across the Applications that feed into and out of the SAP Landscape ensuring the business and data requirements are captured, tested and migrated to meet the project timing.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in information technology, or related field.
2. At least 8+years’ experience with SAP and large project implementations, preferred.
3. 4+ full life cycle SAP implementations of data migration projects, preferred.
4. 3 years' experience as a Data Lead - managing a team to deliver data migration solutions, preferred.
5. Experience with Material, Customer, and Vendor Master Data conversions.
6. Strong understanding of Data Migration Methodology (ETL) including profiling, cleansing, and validation activities
7. Experience with using various data migration tools and solutions that apply to SAP data migration implementations (Syniti, BODS, MDG, etc.)
8. Proven experience in agile project management and project leadership.
9. Excellent communication both verbal and written to all levels and stakeholder management skills.
10. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with multicultural teams, on a global project with flexibility for work hours to support global meetings.
11. Experience in cutover planning for large-scale projects is preferred.
12. Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
13. Strong business process acumen for retail, supply chain, manufacturing and D2C business models
Additional Skills:
· Expert Microsoft Office, and general PC knowledge.
· Service Now experience.
· Power BI reporting and navigating.
· Expert level MS Excel, ability to perform VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, produce executive summaries based on analysis of data to be able to tell the story in a concise manner of what the data is telling or the trends are showing.
· Strong Power Point skills, including the ability to present to leadership.
· ETL tools experience optional.
