Outside Plant Engineer
Multi-Year Contract
Need to be based in Central Alabama
Our energy client is looking to add a cross functional OSP Engineer to their team. This person will assist multiple groups and operating companies within our client's organization and will need to come with a skillset that provides a quick ramp up period. Someone with previous working experience at a communications, utility or engineering/design company would be a great fit for this role.
Required past work experience for this role consists of the ability to read, interpret and develop splice details, the ability to handle relocation and make ready requests, and experience in doing QA and QC checks on construction projects prior to splicing. This person should also have general knowledge of fiber networks.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of outside plant experience or general telecommunications experience
- Work experience with design tools such as MicroStation, 3-GIS, Vetro, Crescent Link etc.
- Basic knowledge and experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Understanding of Fiber Networks
- Knowledge of GPON
- A self-starter who is disciplined and organized, also obtaining critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- OPGW experience is preferred but not required
- Bachelors, Associates or Technical Degree
