Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide engineering support to production activity to meet AWPC’s safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. This position requires good knowledge of the rotorcraft structural systems as well as the standard aeronautical structural installation design procedures. Daily duties include, but are not limited to, supporting assembly and fabrication of all AWPC helicopter lines, with problem solving in fit/form/function questions and technical issues coordinating the solution within the LH design dept. The Structural Design Engineer III is also responsible for drafting and review of structural installations for helicopter customizations and completions, in compliance with EASA and FAA type certificate regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Support flight line giving solutions for the nonconformities to meet the aircraft delivery plans
- Preparation and modification of technical documents (Drawings and 3D models, Part Lists, NI, CR, PP)
- Managing aircraft design modifications by acting as liaison between AWPC Design Engineering Office and LH Structural Systems Department
- Design Engineering liaison for manufacturing, Program Management, Contracts and Supply Chain
- Support to Structure Systems Department for configuration feasibility
- Troubleshoot new installations and validate ATPs
- Training and support of other team members
Education:
- Bachelor Degree - Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering required; (Master preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in an engineering design environment, preferably aerospace. Combination of education and/or experience which would permit performance of essential duties and responsibilities.
