Overview:
The Production Engineer position is responsible for optimizing and supporting manufacturing processes to achieve efficiency and quality goals. This role involves close collaboration with production teams, cross-functional departments, and the Engineering Manager to drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure a safe working environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes for enhanced efficiency, cost reduction, and overall production improvement.
- Work across departments such as Product Development, Technical Service, and Quality Control to streamline production processes.
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360, CAM, AutoCAD) to create detailed models and mechanical system drawings for process improvements.
- Serve as a technical expert on the production floor, training production staff on new processes and equipment.
- Identify and research opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and efficiency gains in production.
- Assist in troubleshooting production issues and implement effective solutions.
- Coordinate with Product Development to transition new systems, equipment, and products into production.
- Identify and resolve issues related to machinery and extrusion processes.
- Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance of production equipment.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Follow all company and departmental policies and procedures related to safety.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably in plastics manufacturing.
- Proficiency in 2D or 3D Modeling software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, CAM, AutoCAD).
- Proficient with MS Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Basic knowledge of project management software such as Monday.com.
- Familiarity with personal protective equipment (PPE) and its usage.
