Responsibilities
Network Infrastructure Design and Implementation:
- Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of network solutions that meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess network needs and recommend improvements.
Network Optimization and Performance:
- Proactively monitor and manage network health, performance, and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues and incidents promptly.
- Implement capacity planning and scaling strategies.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement and maintain network security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
- Ensure network compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and change logs.
- Generate reports on network performance, capacity, and security.
Team Leadership and Mentorship:
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior network engineers and IT staff.
- Mentor team members and facilitate knowledge sharing.
Project Management:
- Manage and lead network-related projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders and vendors.
Vendor and Supplier Management:
- Evaluate and manage relationships with network equipment vendors and service providers.
- Ensure vendor deliverables align with project requirements and performance expectations.
Requirements
- 5 -7 years or more supporting enterprise networking environments
- Strong experience with Cisco network equipment
- Strong experience with layer 2 switching and layer 3 routing concepts
- Strong experience with MPLS and WAN concepts and technology
- Experience with Cisco DMVPN a plus
- Experience with Cisco Firepower a plus
- Experience with zero-trust security posture environments a plus
