As an Accountant, you will be responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, billings, timesheets, and labor reconciliations. The assigned activities will include the preparation of monthly customer invoices, processing vendor invoices, credit card transactions and setting up new employee master files, reconciling bi-weekly payroll to labor posting. Additional duties include assistance in General Ledger entries and month end closing. This position will report under the Project Controller and has growth opportunity to be a Project Analyst/Accountant.
Responsibilities:
- Correspond and communicate with employees, customers, and vendors.
- Reconciliation of corporate checking account.
- Monitor daily cash receipts and expenditures, and record in the system.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Reconcile bi-weekly timesheets data with payroll labor postings.
- Monthly clients invoice preparations, and invoice submissions after management approvals.
- Reconcile customer payments and provide reports to the Client services.
- Monitor AR aging reports ensuring payments are applied accurately.
- Reconcile vendor bills, credit card statements, and monitor all AP accounts for accuracy.
- Process weekly ACH/check runs for vendor payments and expense reports reimbursements.
- Prepare and process monthly General Ledger entries.
- Employee & Vendor Masterfile set up and maintenance.
- Assist with project spend plans for the Project Controller.
- Assist in preparation of Project reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field
- 2 years of accounting experience preferred at a minimum; college graduates in a related field with strong GPA's and an internship experience will still be considered.
- Proficient with Unanet accounting system a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite with extensive knowledge in Excel
- Strong attention to details.
- Proactive self-starter with strong organizational skills
- The United States Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance at the "public trust" level
