Our client is currently seeking a Food Technologist
The perfect candidate would have a background in culinary arts with experience in product development with a working knowledge of spices and food ingredients. Needs to be a professional person ready to work in an entrepreneurial, hands-on and fast paced work environment.
As a Senior Food Technologist, you will be responsible for evaluating and improving food products. Your work involves researching, developing, and testing new food items, as well as enhancing existing ones to meet regulatory standards and consumer preferences.
Responsibilities:
- Formulate seasoning blends and flavors to match ingredient statements, nutritional profile specifications, and sensory attributes of target products.
- Assist in formula development of seasoning blends, snack food seasonings, meat seasonings, sauces and marinades.
- Provide product development support for customers.
- Make and ship samples.
- Follow up with customers.
- Type up product specifications and technical documents
- Develop nutrition facts and product labeling information.
Qualifications:
- Associates or B.S. in Food Science or culinary experience.
- Experience using pH meters, Brix measurements and viscometers.
- Knowledge in Genesis Nutritional Program
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate on a professional level with customers.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to operate effectively in a fast paced, team oriented working environment.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills as well as a proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
