Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Product Owner to join their hybrid team in downtown Chicago, Illinois! This individual will lead and is accountable for any work being proposed or performed within the platform. This role liaises with business partners, IT counterparts, and technology vendor staff to ensure all system-related activities are aligned with the strategic direction.
The individual documents, justifies, and prioritizes technology-related activities among the cross-functional team, thereby promoting a "working together" environment and reducing silos. The individual partners closely with IT and vendor counterparts to coordinate all technology deliverables, including development, maintenance work, and enhancement performance measurements. This role will need to demonstrate a working knowledge of the cargo operating system and its capabilities to realize commonalities among various applications.
Duties:
- Support the development and implementation of the strategic direction for the cargo operating system
- Implement planning and development for technology deliverables to ensure a coordinated approach aligned with strategic direction
- Ensure that strategy and supporting tactics enable highly competitive capabilities for the cargo organization
- Lead activities associated with system issue-resolution on behalf of the business
- Optimize system performance by identifying and actioning automation and process opportunities
- Manage the user request intake process, including assessing requests for viability and priority
- Partner with collaborators to guide the development and implementation of the workstream, while leveraging a strong working knowledge of the system
- Develop and maintains strong working relationships with key business partners, IT, and technology vendor staff
- Ensure strategy alignment with other internal partners
- Prepare communication on progress for leadership, to keep them abreast of the status of pending requests and new developments in the competitive landscape
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of relevant work experience
- 3+ years of proven SkyChain experience or similar airline experience
- 3+ years of experience functioning as the primary business owner for a technology platform
- Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams
- Proven experience in successfully leading and collaborating with stakeholders on technology initiatives
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and effectively guide stakeholders
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of an interview is required to meet job qualifications
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
- Proven experience in the logistics industry implementing strategies for technology initiatives
