Position Overview
The Safety Officer will work closely with Superintendents & Project Management to administer, direct and implement compliance with safety policies and procedures to ensure the achievement of TBC’s goals. This position is responsible for the overall safety procedures on a project specific level or as assigned to multiple projects sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular jobsite safety audits of worksite activities. Share findings, corrective actions and corrective plans with TBC management. Make sure to coordinate visits with the project teams in advance so they can set aside time to do a thorough project walk.
- Visit local projects at least twice a month. Visit outlying projects at least once a month.
- Administrative Duties: Maintaining safety files, training documentation, certification(s), environmental testing, investigation reporting, close call reports, injury summaries, leading indicator data and other documentation
- Provide management with a schedule on Fridays showing the activities for the upcoming week.
- Develop formal training and information schedule for TBC.
- Create and coordinate weekly “tool box” meetings enforcing safety guidelines
- Develop and create New Hire Safety orientation and checklist.
- Implement TBC’s environmental health and safety plan (EHSP) and related programs at assigned projects
- Work with project management teams and our subcontractors to recognize and address potential hazards before they exist and will ensure compliance with our EHSP utilizing behavior based safety techniques
- Lead and live an injury-free environment culture
- Provide trending analysis for projects on a weekly/monthly and/or quarterly basis
- Develop and blend site specific safety plan(s) that incorporate both TBC and our customers safe work practices
- Assist with the continual development of new methods for abating hazards
Compensation
$100,000 - $140,000 DOE
