About the Role:
Reporting to the Infrastructure Engineering Manager the Senior Network Engineer will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure. The role sits within the Infrastructure & Operations function, which is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of all IT Infrastructure & Operations within Heidrick & Struggles. Technical knowledge and a strategic mindset mixed with an eagerness to learn and develop is key to this role. The role will be involved across a range of projects and initiatives, providing opportunities to learn and develop new skillsets.
Responsibilities:
- Network Strategy & Design – Defining Network Infrastructure strategy and specifying products/solutions required to support H&S globally across Local and Wide Area Networks, Network optimization, Wireless, Voice, and Video Networks
- Projects & Initiatives – Supporting all projects and initiatives that involve network design and implementation
- Video & Voice - Support role in ensuring stability in the current environment and supporting further integration into the H&S environment as applicable, as well as SIP Services management and migrations
- Network Support - Providing network support above and beyond the work of the 3rd party data and voice network teams, troubleshooting and resolution of issues
- Vendor Management - Taking a lead role in managing the relationship between H&S and various Telecom / Service vendors. Including a leadership role for the 3rd party Data and Voice Network Support Teams to lead, coach, and train the network engineers on enterprise network best practices and standard operating procedures.
- Office Moves — Build out and design office network infrastructure and configure the environment for all office moves and renovations
- Invoice Tracking and Analysis - Reviewing network and voice invoices, ensuring that these are accurate and reflect adds, moves, changes, and disconnects correctly
- Actively participates in the Change Management process, understanding the risk and impact of any changes made
- M&A – Integration of companies acquired into the H&S Network and Unified Communications stack
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or Business
- Minimum 8 – 10 years of network infrastructure experience within a global company
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in network design and strategy
- Flexibility will be required; potential hours in the evening and weekends at times to implement projects and resolve support issues.
- Cisco Routers & Switches – Expert level knowledge at design, implementation, and support of:
- MPLS
- FlexVPN and IPsec VPN
- BGP and EIGRP Routing Protocols
- SDWAN
- Resilient / Redundant Network Design and Implementation
- L2 and L3 switching, primarily Cisco Catalyst also Cisco Nexus in multiple data centers.
- Physical and Virtual Router platforms
- Palo Alto Security – Expert in implementation and support:
- PanOS in physical and virtual environments
- Prisma Access Remote Branch
- Understanding of Security, NAT, Policy, Threat management
- Logging, Troubleshooting
- VPN
- Cloud Environments – Monitor, troubleshoot, support, and make incremental adds/moves/changes to networks, routing, subnets, security and VM’s in:
- Azure
- AWS
- OCI – Optional (KT can be provided to add this)
- Voice – Implement and support:
- Cisco Routers when operating as SBC’s / CUBE
- AudioCodes Mediant SBC’s
- AudioCodes OVOC – Monitoring/Management use
- Awareness/understanding of Zoom, particularly Zoom Phone Cloud environment.
- Wireless –Implement/support
- HPE/Aruba Instant Access Point environnements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cisco CCNP Enterprise Certification
- Advanced troubleshooting skills and a deep knowledge of Network OS (e.g. Cisco IOS) and diagnostic tools.
- Experience designing and building networks across multiple regions with an understanding of differences in regional legislation requirements
- Network expertise for designing, building and supporting global network infrastructure.
