Job Description:
The Tactical Networks Group specializes in advanced network and communications systems development, with a focus on tactical mobile, military airborne networks of the future. The Tactical Networks Group uses a combination of technical analysis, modeling, simulation, emulation, prototype development, and light evaluation to develop new communication systems and evaluate and predict their performance under expected conditions.
**Must be able to obtain an interim clearance**
Required Skills:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Software Development
- Proficient in Java and Python programming languages, however looking for someone to be strong in one and knowledgeable in the other.
- Experience with modern software engineering tools, including Java dev environments (IntelliJ, Eclipse etc.), debuggers, code repositories, version control (git) and issue tracking (jira)
- Proficient using Linux OS
- Proficient in using and developing Containers and Container Networking - Podman, Podman-Compose etc.
- Basic Networking experience required. Understands OSI model, routing protocols, TCP/IP stack, etc.
Plus:
- Experience with C/C++ and other scripting languages (perl, awk etc.) a plus.
Preferred Education:
- Master of Science in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
- Background in Software Defined Networking a plus.
Work Location:
- Hybrid - 3 days a week onsite
