Position Summary:
The ideal Network Engineer will have a strong understanding of network infrastructure and hardware, the ability to troubleshoot and visualize solutions, and experience with network security. The role involves maintaining and administering computer networks, performing disaster recovery operations, and protecting data and hardware by implementing security measures. The ideal candidate should be able to configure VPN tunnels across different countries to ensure secure and seamless connectivity. The Network Engineer will be responsible for connecting workstations across various sites to enable cross-utilization of resources. It is essential that the candidate has experience in connecting High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems, including GPU and TPU, across multiple locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential duties of the position include the following, and other duties may be assigned:
- Network Design and Implementation: Designing and planning network infrastructure based on business requirements.
- Implementing new network solutions and/or improving existing configurations.
- Managing and maintaining network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless networks.
- Connecting workstations across various sites to enable cross-utilization of resources.
- Network Monitoring and Optimization: Monitoring network performance and ensuring reliability and availability.
- Troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
- Hands-on experience with firewall technologies (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco), VPNs, IDS/IPS, and SIEM solutions.
- Familiarity with network scanning and vulnerability assessment tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNP Security) are a plus.
- Security Management: Implementing and maintaining network security, including setting up firewalls, managing host security, applying encryption technologies, and ensuring network compliance with security policies and procedures.
- Network Maintenance and Support: Performing routine maintenance activities, such as firmware upgrades and patch installations.
- Providing support to end users and other IT team members regarding network-related issues.
- Documentation and Reporting: Documenting network configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Creating reports and presentations for management regarding network performance, trends, and incidents.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborating with other IT staff and departments to ensure efficient operation of the organization's infrastructure.
- Working with vendors and third-party providers.
- Emerging Technologies and Trends: Staying current with new technologies and industry trends.
- Evaluating and recommending new network equipment and software.
- Capacity Planning: Forecasting network capacity requirements and planning for network expansion.
- Disaster Recovery: Developing and implementing network disaster recovery plans and backup procedures.

Education/Experience:
IT certification and/or training from a reputable institute is required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in network design, implementation, and management. The ideal candidate should be able to configure VPN tunnels across different countries to ensure secure and seamless connectivity. It is essential that the candidate has experience in connecting High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems, including GPU and TPU, across multiple locations. Experience with network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless networks. Hands-on experience with firewall technologies (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco), VPNs, IDS/IPS, and SIEM solutions. Familiarity with network scanning and vulnerability assessment tools. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNP Security) are required.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write moderately complex correspondence. Ability to effectively converse and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical staff. Strong documentation skills, including the ability to write clear and concise network diagrams and documentation.

Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to perform complex calculations and analyze numerical data. Proficiency in using mathematical concepts to solve network-related problems. Ability to interpret and utilize statistical data for network performance analysis and optimization.

Ability to interpret feedback from non-skilled technical system users to uncover the source of problems and persistence to efficiently provide solutions. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to solve complex network issues logically and effectively. Capacity to forecast network capacity requirements and plan for future growth.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in network management software and tools. Experience with network monitoring and optimization tools. Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl) for network automation. Knowledge of network security practices and tools, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and SIEM solutions. Proficiency with network configuration and documentation tools.
Certificates and Licenses:
Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNP Security) are required.
