What You’ll Be Doing
As a Product Support Representative, you’ll be an intelligent, independent, and self-driven professional who, under the guidance of the regional Director of Operations, will spearhead sales and customer support initiatives within your designated geographic area. You'll master our client’s product portfolio, understand customer applications, and navigate the waste and recycling markets. Your consultative approach will help clients identify challenges and seize new opportunities, all while maintaining the highest level of customer uptime.
Key Responsibilities
- Multi-State Management: Oversee assignments and responsibilities across various states, handling multiple products and customers.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with the regional Director of Operations and the Sales and After Sales teams to boost sales, support customer uptime, and expand market reach.
- Sales Growth: Increase sales by highlighting unique selling points and technical advantages over competitors.
- Revenue Opportunities: Drive revenue through service and parts by conducting courtesy inspections and customer site visits.
- Machine Rentals: Manage all aspects of machine rentals, from check-in and check-out to start-up and training.
- Machine Demonstrations: Conduct machine demonstrations within your geographic area.
- Customer Visits: Visit every customer in your area at least once a quarter.
- Technical Support: Provide first-line product and customer support, including technical troubleshooting.
- Preventative Maintenance: Work with customers on preventative maintenance inspections and equipment training.
- CRM Utilization: Use Salesforce CRM and other tools to streamline sales processes, enhance pipeline reporting, and improve customer support.
- Technical Advice: Continuously supply customers with technical information and advice on our product portfolio.
- Sales Conversion: Demonstrate, set up, and train customers on equipment to convert opportunities into sales.
- Communication: Effectively communicate customer needs, activities, opportunities, and market insights to the regional Director of Operations.
- Operational Support: Assist the Sales and After Sales teams with operational activities on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Travel: Extensive travel throughout your designated area.
Critical Skills and Experience
- Technical Background: A technical degree from a vocational college is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Electrical and mechanical training is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to convey information to both technically trained and non-technical customers. Spanish is a plus.
- Motivated Team Player: Energetic, highly motivated, and organized, able to quickly form professional relationships.
- Interpersonal Skills: High-level interpersonal skills to guide and negotiate with clients towards optimal product solutions.
- Self-Management: Self-motivated and self-directed with exceptional organizational and time management skills, capable of working productively with minimal supervision.
- Market Knowledge: Ability to develop a thorough understanding of market applications for our client’s products.
- Research and Presentation Skills: Ability to research unfamiliar industry and product information and translate it into engaging sales presentations.
- Tech Proficiency: Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), iOS mobile devices, and other productivity software.
Physical Demands & Competencies
- Physical activities include sitting, stooping, kneeling, pushing, climbing, and working overhead.
- Ability to lift 70 lbs and operate a forklift safely.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical, background check, and drug screen.
- Clean driving record and valid Driver's License required.
- Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Certification.
- Work involves exposure to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels, and driving in various climates.
